Suncraft’s Senzo Nakiri, made in Seki City, Japan, not only looks gorgeous but is a joy to use. At 6.5 inches long, the sturdy blade is made from laminated high-carbon SG2 steel—an alloy forged from a powdered base blend of ingredients balanced for durability, corrosion resistance and edge retention—which means an ultra-durable blade that needs minimal honing and maintenance. It’s the ultimate prep work knife: Use it to precisely and comfortably mince, slice, dice and chop fruits and vegetables for mirepoix, stir-fries, soups, salads and more. Its broad shape conveniently doubles as a bench scraper to transfer mise en place from the cutting board to the pan. The blade is finished with a gentle-tapered Pakkawood handle for a secure and comfortable grip, as well as a mosaic pin—a tell-tale marker of a handmade, premium knife.

How to Use: Use it to prep mirepoix, slice tough root vegetables without splintering them and tackle thick-skinned squash. We do not recommend using Suncraft’s Senzo Nakiri to debone meat or do large butchery work, as it is designed without a sharp tip.
