Illus. with humorous drawings by Quintanilla. NY: Modern Age Books, [1941].
A humorous and poignant romp through the world of (mostly Spanish) food and cooking from the imaginations of American writer Elliot Paul (1891–1958) and Spanish artist Luis Quintanilla (1893–1978). Chapters focus on Spanish rice, scallops, shrimp, mussels, saffron, peppers, salt, pork, and more. The first cartoon is of a dead Nazi, an obvious reference to WWII, then in its second year.
Chipping to jacket along spine, fading & some discoloration to jacket spine, very faint stain to right edge of front jacket panel, otherwise a very good copy; scarce in jacket.
